“Fanden ta dette hull!” (Damn this place/hole) is quite literally the story of a skeleton in a museum who finally got buried in 2019. The song is about a man named Even Olsen Tagholdt who grew up on Tagholdt farm in Lund in 1807. He was convicted of killing Jens Byberg and sentenced to life in prison. After his death in prison, his remains was researched and put on display for a hundred years in a museum.
The first part of the song tells about Tagholdt’s life in prison and his death.
The second part is about how Tagholdt conspired with Byberg’s servant girl to kill him and steal his money. He then tried to flee, but the law eventually caught up with him.
