Your questions about Hellfest!

The band didn’t confirm it but there’s an update on their MySpace with some US dates and it’s unlikely that they will come to Hellfest in the middle of their tour.
HF staff is probably waiting to have a replacement to confirm the cancellation.

Fukk, not again !

thats annoying, fed up of nachtmystium ditching us. Wa looking forward to them so much

A few questions…

how long does the train from Nantes to Clisson take? I arrive at Nantes airport at 09.55am. so am I being overly optimistic to think that I could still see Magrudergrind play! (@ 12.10pm)

also as far as camping goes - is it first-come-first-serve/free for all or are you allocated to certain zones?

sorry for the dull as hell questions!!

It depends on where abouts in Nantes, if it is the airport and you have booked a taxi it should be ok but if it is at the train station and you have to get a train to Clisson and get to the camping it might be a bit short if you have to wait to long for the train

But I think it is very possible to make it on time (specially if you leave your friends set up your tent  )

The camping is first come - first served yeah

Yeah, it’s the airport…i’ll probably train it. if I miss them I miss them, but I’ll definitely catch Crowbar.

EDIT: sadly I have no one to put my tent up! haha as I’m going to be a loner (my friends clearly don’t appreciate the amount of awesome bands this year) ahh well, at least I can be a schedule-fascist and see every band I want

From the airport the Taxi is the best solution as the train station is about 30 mins from airport with the shuttle!

I think the taxi would take less than 50 minutes to get from the airport to the Festival, and you will be droped off streight at the camping entrance and if you book it with other people, it is only 10€/person (cheaper than the shuttle+train)

The official website gives details about the shuttle system (check out news - May 25)

awesome cheers

Hello everyone!! I am new to Hellfest and I’m really excited about the show!! I have a question though, just so I can be prepared. Are the restrooms at Hellfest regular restrooms, or are they all porta potties? It’s my first time in Europe, and a European Music Festival so I really don’t know what to expect :stuck_out_tongue:

Portable ones, my friend! And let me tell you that’s gonna be an experience… Make sure you have a torch light or something if you have to go by night! They were not very clean last year but that should be much better in 2010.
Welcome to Europe!

Be prepared to sacrifice any cleanliness issues you may have…

By way of preparation I’d suggest eating lots of rank food and not flushing the toilet for at least a week. Then, when everything is nicely curing in the bowl, stick your head in and inhale deeply. By Sunday that’s what the toilet blocks smelled like from the outside last year! Welcome to Sewerfest 2010, cleanliness be damned! There’s masochistic fun to be had trying to find a remotely tolerable toilet.

there were some true horrors (escpecially the first one in line), some very sick people. but you could generally find one that was a lesser evil.

I actually enjoyed the horror of last year’s bogs in a ghoulist sorta way. Every visit was russian roulette and an endurance test rolled into one! Won’t mind if they’re better this year though, but I’m not holding my breath…or rather I am!

Hahaha, thanks for the info! I won’t be camping this year, I’ll be staying in a hotel in Nantes. Maybe next year I’ll be prepared to camp after experiencing Sewerfest this year though! I gotta learn one thing at a time hee hee!

So I wanted to know, as far as things that are and arn’t allowed inside… I’m used to the « fests » here in the US that don’t allow cameras, wallet chains, food or water bottles, backpacks, or in and outs of the show. What are the main rules on those types of things for Hellfest?

Not allowed to take bottles or alcohol inside. So you have to learn to smuggle the alcohol.

Backpacks are allowed, chainwallets are a must. But don’t rely on them - I had my wallet stolen at Wacken last year, despite it being on a chain and secured!!

Cameras are allowed as long as there are no bands that want them banned - in which case they are banned for the whoel day that that band is playing on - doesn’t usually happen though!!

I think that’s about right.

You can bring food if it is not in a tin or glass container, small bottles of soft drinks (some times they make you take the lids off)

…How strict are they on IDing people for drinks? And what even are the age restrictions on drinks in france? I’m 16 and would rather not the whole weekend without a single drink :frowning:
