Your questions about Hellfest!

1.4 litre jug more likely

a quelle heure ferment les buvettes du metal corner ?

Yeah, the prices of the beer in th arena mean I rarely buy any. The odd occasional one when I feel like a drink but drink mostly at the camp site, which lets face it is so short a walk, its easily feasible if you have even a small gap inbetween bands and the obligatory liquid breakfast.

Where would you say the ‹ quietest › place to camp is? I’ve got in mind near where the douches are. Number 6 on the map. I’m guessing near the metal corner is going to be quiet loud.

I aim to be going to sleep at around 3am every morning, but if I don’t get my sleep i’m grumpy!

Is mead for sale aswell?

There is no assured quiet place in the camping. There are really often groups of people wandering and screaming around it. But if you’re drunk enough, it shouldn’t be a problem. ^^
In the other hand, if you can’t take the noise, you shouldn’t stay in the camping. ^^

You can"t tell in advance where it will be less noisy.

To be fair you can get to sleep at 3am in most parts of the campsite, just bring earplugs. But farthest away from Metal Corner and the road is likely to be quiet.

Cool, it’s not so much the noise, it’s the random people shouting and screaming about nothing interesting. Children :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a part of the festival spirit. Personally I love to do that with a bunch of drunk unknowns.

agreed on above

waking to a dawn chorus of scattered death growls is hilarious! No sleep til monday!

Hello festival goers… Can’t wait for this. Payday tomorrow and excited to be stocking up on all the necessities.

Few questions though, what were the toilets like last year? Earlier in the thread (talking about the 2009 festival) someone said that the toilet providers were being told to sort their shit out (excuse the pun) and keep better care of the toilets. Has this been more under control or is it still just as vile to go to the toilet?

Secondly, what about the showers? Is it worth paying to use the showers or do you feel dirtier after using them then before?

Cheers guys!

Toilets have been bad-smelling, but usable for the last four years for me. Obviously I would never try to use one of the shit-filled or otherwise completely messed up ones.

Showers have been nice, although a little crowded. On the first year (2009) they didn’t have any warm water which made it interesting (the sun felt all the better after that), but they were better last year.

I don’t mind drinking with people, but don’t like being loud, I have full respect to fellow metalheads and have in mind others may be sleeping, but that’s just me.

Treat others how you wish to be treated, so let me fucking sleep

@Heabymetawhunta:

There is no english booklet.
But it’s not so bad, cause all Infos you need (site 15 map of the festival area, site 17 running and site 23 metalcorner running) are understandable without speaking french.

They restructured the camp site a little bit, so my favourite spot in now taken by the metalcorner. Furthermore you can now park much closer to the camp site, which avoids the last years annoying luggage hauling over miles.

reading said booklet, it seems the campsite is closing at 10am on monday? used to be midday, i think, it’ll be a bit harsh to be raising the dead at that time after the full weekend. how strong will this be enforced?

Can’t be arsed to read through 20 pages so apologies if this has already been mentioned but are you running the taxi/minibus service from Nantes Airport again. I would like to reserve a seat. I’m flying in from East Midlands on the Thursday. Cheers !

No it was a general question to any of the mods !

Hello to all, this will be my first time to hellfest and am looking forward to nothing more. I have however one question that keeps playing on my mind… my inquiry is to regards as to what you can take into the campsite alcohol wise, by this i don’t mean what types of alcohol will be allowed but more what receptacles are allowed. I have been to several festivals in England and all of them have banned glass from the campsite, this is not a problem, I just wanted to check if this is the same for Hellfest… the reason I ask is that I thought I read somewhere it is allowed but have since not been able to find out any more on the subject or indeed the post I originally read… and of course a vast majority of alcohol bought from French supermarkets is in glass bottles. Cheers.

hey
got a few questions
first:
i read that you cant bring stoves and grills.
now… how the hell are you supposed to cook withouth any heat?!

are they gonna be very serious about this? im not planning to live off mc donalds or high priced festival food i prefer a nice steak in the morning but not toooo raw.

and as larry already asked. whats the deal with glass?

@lookinglikelarry : no restriction whatsoever regarding alcohol (receptacles + quantity)

@necrophant : the rule says stoves and grills are not allowed for security reasons. But every year, you can spot quite a few being used here and there at the campsite.
