I am indeed from the UK and yes I imagine I will be taking a plane to Paris. It’s quite the inconvenience but should be worth it. Car pooling would be quite an experience and I imagine it would be rather beneficial as it would allow me to meet/get to know many people going to the festival who I can hang around with throughout. Would the aperitif (had too Google that ) happen in the camp? If so, it could be worth just getting a bus and getting to know people at the aperitif (for convenience and potentially less stress).
Cheers, Luke.
Sorry I don’t know the English word for « aperitif »
Yes it will be organized near to the camp, where there are food stands, bar, Metal Corner etc. That’s what happened last year.
I was just wondering, last year was there any hot vegan food available to buy anywhere? as last time i went in 2012 there were only chips (fries) and i ended up buying baguettes from one of the bakeries and making chip butties (sandwiches) and topping them up with other stuff from the supermarket. it just would be nice and save hassle if i could by something already made and tasty to eat. Also does anybody know if the hellfest wine is suitable? or does anybody know who makes the wine so i could contact them to find out. anyway, Im really really looking forward to Hellfest this year!
The only thing about making wine, is that the raisins are sqashed with bare feet! (So, you can say there’s flesh on them.) Apart from that, bacterias to convert the sugar (of said raisins) into alcohol, but as far as I know, no other animal use of it.
Wine is no more made like that for a long time. Producers use hydraulic presses, like almost everywhere in France.
Muscadet is white wine, not top quality (even if some are very good), but very correct for Hellfest (you’re not in a gastronomic restaurant).
Wine can sometimes not be vegan dependent on how it is filtered (google it), as egg albumen or isinglass (made from fish bladders) can often be used. i would need to contact whoever makes it? to make sure its ok. cheers for all your help anyway, it’s not even for me it’s for the mrs (it will be her first hellfest!) as i don’t drink anymore.
If sometimes egg white (sometimes other kind of proteins) is used for sticking impurities in the barrel, normaly, wine is extracted from the barrel few days later without proteins and impurities. So you don’t find them in the wine.
