this is my first Hellfest so a few questions arrised and i haven’t found all answers yet.
What I read in this forum no sealed bottles are allowed. are they only not allowed on festival area or also not at campingsite? wondering where to get beer or water while not at festival area.
Second question is I only found information on not using gas stoves or other things for heating up food but what about cooling drinks? is dry ice allowed at camping site? or how to cool drinks and food else over 4 days?
You can bring any bottles you want (including glass) on the campsite but not on the festival area. There is also a bar at the metalcorner and free water point (look at the map of the festival).
You can buy ice cubes at the Leclerc supermarket. Or directly fresh food.
thanks for the fast answer so i can bring dry ice to the campsite? it would be much easier and more efficient than normal ice cubes.
some festivals are prohibiting bringin dry ice because of some idiots doing stupid things with it. just want to be sure before spending 50€ on dry ice and then have to leave it outside.
They don’t inspect what you bring into the campsite. You should be fine.
Put it inside a bag and you’ll be fine. Even if they see it, I think they won’t care / won’t know what it is.
@Alyann: It is not that unusual to bring dry ice to a festival in austria or germany. its the easiest way to keep your stuff cold over 4 days without much effort. you just have to know some things about dry ice then you are fine.
@Azhdar: I will give it a try and we will see on thursday what happens
Hellfest was awesome, definitely gonna make it again!
But I have some questions about EasyCamp. There is an information on EasyCamp page…
What does that mean? It covers only amount indicated like « deposit » in description of each option? Or it’s about all the money? Like, the cheapest 190 euro - it’s price or it will be also returned?
You pay a rent, and a caution/deposit whilst using Easy Camp. The rent has to be paid, the deposit will be blocked on your credit card, and be returned after you leave. I do NOT know what the deposit will be.
Awesome festival! But too many thieves! My friends backpack with all his clothes got stolen from the campsite. And some asshole stole my phone and tried to take my wallet during Children of Bodom. The loss of my phone really fucked the tripp for me! Pray i never catch you motherfucker!
That’s sad. But I noticed some people are too… careless. I’ve seen so many opened tents without people inside - literally, get in and take all that you need. Personally I’ve got small locks and always kept tent’s zip locked when I leave. I know it’s almost worthless in case of someone having a knife, but it’s at least something. And sure, I left my phone at home and got my very old nokia just to receive calls
Didn’t notice any thief luckily and I told my friend from the states that in comparison to bigger festivals in Germany it’s safer.
My mistake. This really sucks. Have to be aware of this next year.
And speaking about next year.
Does anyone know how to get VIP tickets?
We’re really interested in buying some next year but I have no idea so far how to buy them.
I had the same stealing case but during Meshuggah. 2 phones on me and 1 from a friend plus his wallet. We were in the front lines and that was the big flaw.
Otherwise the Festival was a BLAST
I have the same question regarding the VIP tickets if anyone got the info please advise.
I might be wrong but somewhere here on forum I’ve seen that VIPs are people with personal invite by festival crew. At least those who are allowed to go on VIP section on the right of MS. So it’s not that easy to get VIP ticket.
But there is also Hellfest Cult which is kind-of-a-fun-club of Festival. They’re « hiring » people yearly and hiring time is almost the same with tickets selling dates. And Cult members are getting some bonuses that look like VIP-ish things. Cult membership is valid for one year, so each year you need to join again if you want. Their website is here http://www.hellfestcult.fr/, sadly only in French.
I’m coming to Hellfest for the first time in 2019 and thinking of getting a room in Clisson somewhere as opposed to camping on site. Reading that bit about the stealing makes me more set on doing it too.
How early do hotels or hostels in clisson start booking? Are there shuttle services that go to any of them or any accessible sites in town near them?
